Historium Brugge

The Historium Brugge was again a special challenge, as this attraction was also situated inside a medieval building- resulting in all available rooms being very tiny. The structure of this story bound walkthrough was thus mostly defined by the best way to manouver from room to room, while following all rules & safety regulations, as well as offering a compelling experience for the visitors.

Historium puts the visitor back into the middle ages, Bruges golden age. While walking through a succession of fully themed rooms, the visitors get immersed into a story that taks place in the middle ages and learn about the life, the architecure and the city of Bruges.

Historium was built in the time from 2010 to 2013.

Scope

EAS was responsible for the design, art direction and project management for all interior elements of the attraction. Working closely with the director of the medieval story film that acted as a red thread of the tour EAS built a completely immersive environment that puts visitors in the middle of the film´s story.

EAS also fabricated all the models for the attraction´s highly realistic animatronics. They are the first animatronics that are actually fully 3D printed from digital sculptures.
